SOLLC: Career Support Ministry By Adam Sprecher There are many adjectives that can describe what our economy is going through right now, recession, retraction, freeze. Many “experts” predict it could take anywhere from 2-10 years for our economy to get back to where it was a few years ago. If you are one of the more than four million Americans that have lost their job in the past two years, this isn’t encouraging news. Almost worst news though if you are one of the 65% of Americans that aren’t happy in your current job. I’ve always viewed my career in the same light as my faith, a journey. The journey has many twits, turns, setbacks, but most importantly a purpose. Now, my purpose is most likely different than yours, your neighbor, or your best friend and that is okay. The important fact is to know your purpose and understand your passions. Knowing your purpose and passion for your career journey, just like in your faith journey, is a powerful and rewarding feeling. I find myself in a fortunate career that allows me to live my purpose and demonstrate my passion everyday. Are you currently in the same place? If you answered no, you are by no means alone and this is why SOLLC is launching a new career supporting ministry. The ministry will be focused on providing support, encouragement, tools, resources, and networking to all those in pursuit of your career purpose and passion. If you answered yes, congratulations to you! I encourage you to help us launch this new ministry. Call it ‘paying it forward” or just doing what the Lord has called us to do, I promise you will also benefit from being involved. As we launch this ministry over the next few months, we will look for feedback, thoughts, and suggestions on how to serve the greater SOLLC community. We will be kicking our ministry off with our first session on Wednesday, March 10 from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. If you are in pursuit of your next career, or know someone looking, please consider attending. Questions? Interested in joining, leading, volunteering? Contact Adam Sprecher. Craft Fair Event Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church will host the 20th annual Holiday Craft Fair on November 13, 2010 from 9:00 a. m. to 3:00 p. m.
Good Friday services on April 2, 2010 at 5:30 p. m. and 7:30 p. m. will feature the 18th annual Easter Drama. The cast features Shepherd of the Lake members from ages 3 years to grandparent ages.
This year's script focuses on Peter and Judas. Peter physically experiences Jesus’ control of nature and all the disciples witness countless miracles of healing. They are filled with wonder but no real understanding of what they are experiencing as followers of the son of God. The performance is rated PG for realism and off-stage violence.

For more information, contact Stacy Wollmuth: 651.452.3680 Ext. 109. Weekly discussion & support group meetings. All persons are welcome, regardless of religious affiliation.
Vendor who were at the 2009 Craft Fair have first choice of spaces until April 1. We open the remaining spaces to new vendors after April 1. Vendors are assigned pending juried approval. We encourage you to send in your forms as quickly as possible as our event does fill in the spring. If your preferred spot is already taken, we will work with you and try to pick another site. If we cannot agree on a space, we will return your fee. Once you have agreed to a location for 2010, the fee is nonrefundable.
We maintain a waiting list for possible openings later in the year. Telephone requests for "saving spaces" cannot be honored, although you are welcome to check about available openings before you send in your forms.
Tax regulations required that we have a copy of your MN tax form ST-19 on file for each year. Even if you do not collect sales tax for your product, we still need the form and your signature stating that you are exempt. Registrations without a MN ST-19 will not be accepted.
