Serve with SOLLC

We are blessed with an incredible community to carry out our mission! We couldn’t do it without you! We invite you to serve with us whether at Shepherd of the Lake, with us in the community, or around the world.

  • Volunteer at Sunday School

  • Participate in our Worship Arts Team to decorate the sanctuary

  • Co-lead a life group

  • Volunteer at SOLLC Events

Volunteer/Donate your Talent:

Are you an amazing woodworker, chef, painter, or green thumb? We’d love for you to share your talents with our wonderful community! Help us get to know you!

Send an email to Shannon Hoffmann if you'd like to help one-on-one, offer a class, co-lead a life group or just connect with others who enjoy the same activities as you.

SERVING COMMUNION

Each Sunday we will need 1 team lead and 8 communion servers to help with serving communion. The team lead will be responsible for setting up the communion stations and will need to arrive prior to the service to allow time.

Check out our instructional video about serving communion to learn more about it.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION TASK FORCE

Serve in the Community

We take great pride in our work with one another and within our community, through our Outreach Ministries at Shepherd of the Lake!

A Community Connection Task Force has been created to further Shepherd of the Lake’s mission of “Open Hearts” by creating a process to engage the congregation in new ways to serve our neighbors in Scott County and around the world. The team consists of Chris Jerke, Allie Olinger, Rhiannon Johnson, Jo Sindelar, Bob Fust, Patty Matthews, Shannon Hoffmann, and Pastor Dan. Feel free to reach out to any of us with questions or ideas.

SERVE IN THE COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES

The Link

The Link is a partner of SOLLC that provides housing, community, and counseling to sex-trafficked youth. Shepherd of the Lake collects personal items and clothing year-round. More opportunities to get involved include: providing meals, teaching life skills classes, or leading activities with the youth.

Shepherd’s Path Community Garden

The Shepherd’s Path Community Garden is located in Horkey Park off of County Road 42 and Shepherd’s Path Road. Plots are available to rent.

No Horsin’ Around

No Horsin' Around volunteers provide food and fellowship for the families that care for the horses at Canterbury Park. We bring the dinner, tour the barns to learn about the daily horse care routines, worship in a bilingual service setting, and share a meal and fellowship. Events run from May - August.

Community Action Partnership (CAP)

The Community Action Partnership (CAP) agency offers a variety of important local services for those in need in Scott/Carver Counties.

FISH

Families & Individuals Sharing Hope, or FISH, has been formed in Scott County with a mission to partner together to meet human needs so that individuals will be able to live healthy, transformed lives.
