About Us

Who we are

Shepherd's Flock Preschool is where quality education meets a nurturing environment.

Children learn by seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, tasting, pouring, pounding, measuring, cutting, gluing, and trying things for themselves. In other words...THEY LEARN BY HAVING FUN! We incorporate all of these activities in our curriculum for loads of fun and learning.

  • Each child is accepted as an individual

  • Children learn by playing through a mixture of teacher and child initiated activities and hands-on learning

  • We incorporate Christian faith into our everyday experiences

  • Children learn that they are nurtured and loved by God

  • Our activities promote language, literacy, math, science, arts and large motor play

  • We create a high-quality learning environment that enables every child to become a creative and confident thinker.

  • We partner with families to support their child’s learning and development

  • Parents are welcomed into the classroom at all times.

4 star - Parent Aware

  • Parent Aware is Minnesota’s Quality Rating and Improvement System

  • This system improves, supports, and celebrates the strengths of child care and early education programs

  • Highlights our practices to prepare our learners for kindergarten

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

  • Our high-quality early childhood program is endorsed by this third party

  • A self-study assessment was completed to receive accreditation. The study included our curriculum, materials, and planned activities.

  • Every 5 years, we reassess and comply with the NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards

It is important to develop routines that are predictable and consistent to help children feel secure and become increasingly independent. The following is a typical day:

  • Welcome/Sign in

  • First Circle – Prayer, hello song, discuss area of study

  • Interest Areas – Learning stations and small groups may be during this time

  • Second Circle – Sharing bag, music and movement, story

  • Snack Time

  • Large Motor – Outside, Gym or YMCA
