I became involved as SOLLC's Volunteer Coordinator for Simpson Housing Services two years ago.  I had previously served the evening meal there many times before and found it such an impactful and important opportunity I decided to step into the Coordinator role when the need arose.

One of the things that inspires me to support this ministry is that it is a hands on service opportunity rather than just writing a check or dropping off an item.  Seeing the faces of the people we are serving leaves a lasting impression.  I also enjoy the conversations in our family car on the way home from serving nights.  I feel it's a great learning experience for our kids to be involved in this ministry too.  Being able to provide a group of people experiencing homelessness a warm meal is a blessing to us and to them!
