  • Living Water | Middle School Ministry | Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church

Living Water is our Middle School Ministry where youth gather every Wednesday to learn faith fundamentals, explore the Bible, and participate in faith discussions. Living Water Living Water is a part of our Middle School Ministries at SOLLC for 5th-7th grade students. In Living Water, students learn faith fundamentals, explore the Bible, and are encouraged to begin asking questions about their faith journey. This is an exciting and interactive program filled with music, games, faith formation, and small groups. 300+ youth gather every Wednesday to learn and grow in their faith with peers and adult leaders. We encourage an open dialogue and provide a safe space for students to share. As 8th graders, students participate in Affirmation of Baptism - a year-long experience that is a culmination of Middle School Ministry. In AOB, students take the faith basics they've learned the previous years and are asked to start applying them to their lives, begin to figure out what they believe, and look at how they fit into the wider church as they journey towards the Affirmation of Baptism service in May. We hope that when each student enters the building, they feel welcomed and affirmed as the person they are and the person they are becoming. Every student has a place at God’s table – no exceptions. • Columbarium | Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church | Prior Lake, MN

Shepherd of the Lake offers a beautiful alternative to traditional cemetery burial plots with our Columbarium. Columbarium We believe that every human life is uniquely blessed by God and the way we celebrate our loved ones upon their passing, as well as where they choose to be laid to rest, is a very personal decision. Shepherd of the Lake offers a beautiful alternative to traditional cemetery burial plots with our Columbarium. What is a Columbarium? A columbarium is a group of small compartments or niches designed to hold the cremated remains (cremains) of loved ones who have died. A columbarium is an alternative to cemetery burial plots. Cremains are placed in one niche with a granite front. Each niche includes an engraved bronze plaque on the exterior with name, birth and death dates. An Alternative to Cemetery Burial Plots Our ancestors were typically laid to rest in burial grounds adjoining rural churches or in city mega cemeteries. The increasing demand and cost of land have made large cemeteries less accessible, feasible, and affordable. While cremation rates are now approaching 70%, they are expected to top 90% in the near future. A practical alternative for burial has once again become sites adjacent to churches for the cremated remains of congregants and friends of the church. Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church is proud to offer Shepherd’s Path Memorial Columbarium as an alternative, covering our congregation throughout life and beyond. Have questions about our Columbarium? Please call the church office at 952-230-2988 or contact us online . Our Columbarium is located outdoors on the Shepherd of the Lake Campus at 3611 North Berens Road NW, Prior Lake, Minnesota.
